Overview
Slower thinking. Trouble concentrating. Your brain feels like it’s covered in a dense cloud. You no longer experience the clarity of mind you once did. You realize your memory isn’t as sharp anymore. You forget everyday things that cause you embarrassment in social situations or in your workplace. You forget your kids’ schedule or things at the grocery store. Your mind is changing and this makes you uncomfortable.
Women going through menopause or even the years leading up to menopause start to experience hormonal shifts that can cause, among other things, the brain fog symptoms listed above. Deficiencies in a number of hormones, such as estrogen and thyroid, contribute to brain fog. The inability to live your life well is diminished by your inability to think clearly or remember things.
As we age, areas of our brain actually deteriorate, causing an overall decline in cognitive function and supply of enzymes and neurotransmitters. However, hormones play a vital role in the brain, as elsewhere in the body, meaning a decline in hormone levels can cause decline in memory and other brain functions. Fortunately, improving brain power is often only a matter of achieving correct hormonal balance.
Many menopausal women recognize the hormonal shift they experience and try to compensate with HRT, but often just one hormone is prescribed and dosage is far too high. Rarely are the problem and the solution found in one hormone alone. Often current problems become worse or new problems arise. The best treatment is to take natural hormones in amounts as close as possible to what your younger body made for itself.
Questions
Nutrition and brain fog
Supporting brain function starts with good nutrition. Deciding which foods to eat to support brain function can often depend on which of your hormones are deficient. Our doctor can recommend nutritious foods and supplements that will optimize your wellness based on your specific needs.
Slower thinking
Age-related changes in the brain are worsened or caused by hormonal deficiencies, especially thyroid hormones. Our REVITA physician will test you for thyroid deficiency and devise a plan for treatment if warranted.
Memory problems, general feeling of brain fog or cloudy thinking
Estrogen plays a very powerful role in brain function. Estrogen also declines dramatically during menopause, which often leads to memory problems and brain fog. Menopausal women taking estrogen do not experience symptoms such as brain fog and have better quality of life overall. If you are experiencing brain fog or memory problems, our REVITA physician will test you for estrogen deficiency, and develop a treatment plan if deficiency is found.
What are your medical dispensing protocols?
REVITA offers treatment only to individuals with a clinical deficiency. Our company name is REVITA Anti-Aging, but we prescribe medications only to those who are determined to have a clinical deficiency by means of lab testing conducted by our REVITA Medical Physician. Working with our specially trained physician is important to ensure your short and long term wellness. Taking any type of supplement or prescription medication, even those that are natural as possible, can be counterproductive for your health and money if treatment is not necessary.
Testimonials
“He (a medical hormone specialist) took one look (at my labs) and said ‘Your hormone tank is empty…That’s why you feel like your life force is being drained.’ My eyes welled with tears. Finally someone understood and had a solution…. After one day on bio-identical estrogen, I felt the veil lift. After three days, the sky was bluer, my brain was no longer fuzzy, my memory was sharper. I was literally singing and had a skip in my step.”
~ Oprah from O Magazine, February 2009
“The anti-aging program helped me a lot – I lost weight, my sex drive came back (my husband liked that), I had more energy, my bad cholesterol went down, major mood swings were eliminated and my mood in general improved. Prior to treatment I was often tired, my brain was foggy, my moods were all over the board – more people need to know about this type of treatment (BHRT). I do bioidentical testosterone, progesterone, HGH and DHEA.”
~Theresa, 52
“I was skeptical at first you know. But I feel great. I feel just mentally alone it’s worth it. The main things it helped me with in order is: First, mental clarity and mood; second, energy; third, libido; and fourth, muscle tone and strength. I have gained 7 to 8 pounds of muscle.”
~Scott, Rock Hill, 33
REVITA: “How are you feeling?”
Mary: “Wow, overly euphoric. I feel much sharper mentally, my clarity is like, ‘bring it on.’ I just feel so clear. And I felt better within a week, I felt a lot better. I feel much more relaxed, clear, and focused during all my meetings throughout the day.”
~Mary, Charlotte, 54
