In today’s world, women lead fast-paced, busy lives, involved in challenging careers, raising children, or spend time giving back to the community. In order to meet these challenges, women want to feel their best, and their health and wellness are vital. However, many women suffer from common problems: They have less energy, feel fatigued, are more susceptible to stress, they don’t sleep as well, don’t think as clearly as they used to, and just don’t feel like they once did. They may also experience weight gain or difficulty losing weight. Many of our female patients come to us because they just don’t feel like themselves and aren’t living up to their potential. The medical team at REVITA specializes in women’s health and wellness with training in these issues that the majority of women face.
Many of our female patients complain that when they tell their doctor they just don’t feel well or motivated, they are prescribed an anti-anxiety pill or an anti-depressant. REVITA doesn’t believe in the “one size fits all” approach to feeling your best. Most anti-anxiety or anti-depressant medications have much more unwanted side effects than benefits, and typically women on those medications want to get off of them. Our bodies are not deficient in Ambien or Prozac for example, so these medications are just a band-aid fix that fail to get to the root cause of our problems. Instead of the “just try this pill for three months” approach, REVITA custom tailors medical solutions for women that help them look and feel healthy and full of vitality. Our physician works closely with patients to find the best combination of natural supplements and/or bioidentical hormones to naturally rebalance your body and help you recapture your spirit.
Many of our patients also complain that their regular doctor didn’t listen to their concerns. A famous study by Drs. Howard Beckman and Richard Frankel published in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that when patients begin to speak to their doctors about their health challenges or problems, they are interrupted by their doctor in a mean time of 18 seconds. Furthermore, this study found that only 1 out of 4 patients were eventually able to complete their statement of their health concerns. Again, we allocate 45 minutes for each patient so our physician can fully understand your concerns. We believe that is one of the most important approaches to successful treatment.
The body is a complex system. With the current state of healthcare and insurance, traditional doctors are able to only spend a few minutes at most with each patient. In this environment, it is nearly impossible to come up with a comprehensive holistic solution for wellness. These doctors really have no other option but to give an anti-depressant to patients who complain that they just don’t feel as good as they used to. This is a major reason that our office is out of the insurance network, because they dictate what kind of care you can give and the amount of time you can spend with each patient. So many traditional doctors specialize in “sick care,” focusing on fixing a specific problem like a broken bone or a cold, but often the problem is not that simple. There are many women who notice that as they get older, they just don’t feel as well as they used to, and need a physician that specializes in wellness. That’s what we do at REVITA.
We have one mission at REVITA: To make women feel healthy and well, by finding the best treatment possible through comprehensive evaluations. Unlike other medical clinics, we allocate 45 minutes for each patient, one at a time, and we have no bias towards one artificial pill, prescription, chemical or drug. To fulfill our mission of health and wellness, our medical team seeks to understand the root cause of the patient’s health challenges; and then treat them with the most natural, safe, and effective treatments available, the way nature intended.
